Signing Bible Songs
Great Tool/Educational resource for Parents, Teacher, Daycare, Preschool, Schools, Churches and Nurseries. This is our second in the series of signing songs. This DVD, which is more advanced than our previous production, features an introduction to advance signing of Christian songs for children, including children with special needs. The DVD Program, developed by a BCMT (Board Certified Music Therapist), includes music and movement enjoyed by all children.

Track 1, run time 20 minutes, demonstrates how to sign each song, and then each song is signed and sung. Track 2, run time 15 minutes, features the music therapist signing and singing the songs. Track 3, run time 45 minutes, repeats signing and singing the songs.

13 Christian Songs are featured on the DVD, including: Jesus Loves Me, Jesus Loves the Little Children, He's Got the Whole World in His Hands, When the Saints Go Marching In, Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam, Praise Him All Ye Little Children, Lord I Want to Be a Christian, Michael Row the Boat Ashore, We Are Climbing Jacob's Ladder, Deep and Wide, What a Mighty God We Serve, and This Little Light of Mine.

The DVD enables children to speak with their hands before they can talk. It helps the child increase clarity of wants and needs. It promotes active participation and play, while creating a rich learning environment, and fosters language growth and music appreciation. It may help children speak earlier by increasing their receptive language vocabulary. It provides an opportunity to strengthen and develop fine motor skills, and decreases a child's frustration by providing a developmentally appropriate way to communicate before he/she can verbalize. It encourages cognitive development and neuron connections in the brain, and may increase a child's independence by providing a way to initiate interactions with his/her environment.

How is sign language used in this video?
Specific words in the songs are highlighted by signs. Target words are paired with signs in music to provide an opportunity for learning in a structured and fun manner. Signs in this video are not exact; rather they are made to be appropriate for the cognitive and fine motor developmental levels of children. The signs, gestures, and imitation skills learned are meant to be an easy way to bridge the gap until more expressive language skills are learned. In addition to specific signs, it is important for children to be able to imitate actions and gestures. Songs in this video also provide opportunity to practice imitation skills, not just specific signs.
